Electrosteel Steels Ltd. is developing an integrated steel facility in Bokaro, Jharkhand, India, positioning itself within the broader industrial machinery manufacturing sector. The greenfield project centers on long products, with an initial capacity of 2.2 million tonnes per year in the first phase and a planned expansion to 5 MTPA in the second phase to include billets and rails. The plant design comprises key unit operations such as raw material handling, an oxygen plant, blast furnaces, steel converters and melting shops, as well as a coke oven and rolling mills. It will source power from the Damodar Valley Corporation and operate a captive power plant, alongside its own captive coal and iron ore mines. Based in India, the company pursues CSR activities in Bokaro focusing on education, sanitation and plantation. One of its directors is Mr. J J Irani.
