Entorian Technologies, a small United States-based computer hardware maker, has reoriented its business from stacking services and memory module manufacturing to concentrating on its Augmentix operation. The shift followed the July 2008 acquisition of Augmentix, and by the first quarter of 2009 it had terminated its prior manufacturing activities and closed a facility in Mexico. Currently, the focus is on Augmentix, which provides rugged computing solutions for use in harsh, mission-critical environments such as military, first responders, homeland security, and industrial applications. The company maintains an extensive portfolio of patents and patent applications tied to its stacking technologies and continues to license these assets. Manufacturing for former stacking and memory products has been transferred to licensees SMART Modular Technologies, Inc., and TriCor Technologies, Inc. Entorian continues to trade on NASDAQ under ENTN, and information about its Augmentix business is available at augmentix.com.
