Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is an 83-acre botanical institution based in Coral Gables, Florida. It functions within the museums, historical sites, and zoos sector, offering year-round outdoor programming such as festivals, concerts, and other events alongside its horticultural displays. The garden is recognized for palm research, horticulture, and conservation work, and it launched The Fairchild Challenge in 2002 to promote environmental awareness, scholarship, and stewardship among youth. Visitors and the surrounding community, including teenagers and pre-teens, are the primary audience served by its educational outreach and experiential programs. The organization engages with partners and develops new experiences, such as Fairies in the Garden introduced in 2026, and collaborates on events like holiday light shows with Epic Entertainment Group since 2018, as well as educational planting initiatives with UHealth and Downtown Doral Charter Elementary School. The garden continues to act as a community hub for environmental education and conservation within the South Florida region.
