Our mission is to teach and empower people and communities to increase their health, well being, and self-reliance by growing food for themselves and others organically and sustainably. Produce from our main teaching garden in Livermore, Calif., is given to Open Heart Kitchen and local food pantries to feed the needy. Fertile GroundWorks champions locally-grown food and facilitates the creation and sustainable operation of community, school and employee gardens. We're always looking for volunteers, either in the garden or if you have professional skills to offer: administrative, community outreach, construction projects, fundraising, grant writing, event planning and graphic design to name a handful.
