First In Families of North Carolina (FIFNC) is a small to mid-sized nonprofit in the field of individual and family services, based in Durham, North Carolina. It supports people with disabilities and their families to pursue their goals and contribute to their communities, emphasizing practical support and collaborative planning. The organization operates 13 chapters across 47 counties, and through the Lifeline Project extends assistance to families in the remaining 53 counties in North Carolina. It also provides technical assistance to its chapters, including training, assessment, leadership development, resource leveraging, and alignment with its model of best-practice family support. 

Lifetime Connections offers a membership-based program delivering supports and future planning services for people with all types of disabilities and their families, including networks and workshops on wills and estate planning. The FIFNC Time Bank connects community members to exchange skills and services without money, valuing time and talents equally and welcoming participants with and without disabilities. Collectively, FIFNC functions as a community-oriented provider of family support and inclusion, working with local communities and businesses to respond to requests and help individuals live and thrive.
