Armed with a career track record of managing more than 3,000 real estate transactions and a desire to create a real estate company that provides superior marketing and customer service, Benji Smith founded Flagship Properties, Commercial Sales & Leasing, in Greenville, South Carolina in 2008 at the height of The Great Recession.  

Smith partnered with Jon Pickhardt to add property management to Flagship’s services in 2010.   Flagship acquired Riverside Property Management, Rent the Upstate, and Morris Management Company in 2010, 2012, and 2019, respectively.  Residential sales were added in 2011 to complete the full-service real estate spectrum.  Smith and Pickhardt continued their real estate business expansion in 2013 by acquiring ownership and commercial operations of The Office Centers, the largest executive suites company in the Upstate of South Carolina leasing to more than 200 companies. Flagship Properties’ commercial division was rebranded as Flagship Commercial in 2019 and launched flagship-commercial.com to showcase Flagship Commercial’s track record of Sales & Leasing of Investment Properties, Medical Office Buildings, Professional Office Buildings, Retail Strips, Industrial/Warehouse/Flex Properties, and Building Sites. 

Flagship Commercial represents buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, and investors, offering a full-range of commercial real estate services.
