FRCSW generates readiness for the warfighter by being the premier maintenance, repair and overhaul organization in the Department of Defense. Located in San Diego at Naval Base North Island in Coronado, it employs more than 5,000 civil service employees, contractors and active duty military personnel to meet the demands of the fleet. FRCSW is proud to be the top aerospace employer in San Diego and its employees work not only on aircraft but also ship engines to support the Marines and Navy at large.

FRCSW encompasses sites at North Island (San Diego), Miramar, Pendleton, Lemoore, CA; Yuma, AZ; Canon AFB, NM; Kaneohe Bay, HI; Iwakuni, Okinawa, Japan; as well as detachments at Pt. Mugu and Fallon, CA.
