FRCSW generates readiness for the warfighter by being the premier maintenance, repair and overhaul organization in the Department of Defense. Located in San Diego at Naval Base North Island in Coronado, it employs more than 5,000 civil service employees, contractors and active duty military personnel to meet the demands of the fleet. FRCSW is proud to be the top aerospace employer in San Diego and its employees work not only on aircraft but also ship engines to support the Marines and Navy at large.

The command is known for its innovative spirit: from the utilization of work benches as aircraft repair stations to the invention of the Center Barrel Plus program and Super Hornet Splice. FRCSW has been at the forefront of innovation for more than 100 years.
