FOODsafetyPCR is a technology company dedicated to developing and bringing to market the fastest, easiest-to-use, and most comprehensive pathogen testing and detection solution on the planet. Our primary target? The Food Safety industry.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 48 million people get sick from a foodborne illness in the United States each year, resulting in 128,000 people being hospitalized and 3,000 deaths. On a global basis, however, the figures soar to over 600 million incidents annually.

In nearly all instances, foodborne illnesses are caused by the presence of one or more pathogens, such as bacteria (such as E.coli, Salmonella, and Listeria monocytogenes), viruses (like Norovirus, Hepatitis A and E, and Rotavirus), and more.

To address this global challenge, seven senior executives have banded together to form FOODsafetyPCR, including the top legal mind in the food safety industry, two senior food industry executives, three senior financial industry professionals, and a leading technology marketing professional.

FOODsafetyPCR has finalized an agreement with ExcitePCR to license its portable, PCR-based technologies on an exclusive, worldwide basis for the Food Safety industry — technologies that were evaluated and verified by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories in 2017.

This agreement with ExcitePCR will allow us to bring to market a bookbag-sized, completely portable, fully-automated sample preparation TaqMan PCR device designed solely for the Food Safety Industry. The first FOODsafetyPCR solution — the FS-Detector™ — will deliver highly accurate, quantitative pathogen testing and detection results in as little as 30 minutes, including all required sample preparation, and yet will do so with one-button/no-technical-staff simplicity, making it ideal for use on a processing floor or in a retail food setting. A unique Open-Assay Approach will also allow standard assay use from any qualified vendor.
