Hi Single Friends,

We’re Danielle and Julie, cofounders of PlotTwist, healthcare providers, college best friends (WE ARE Penn State), and yes, single. If that ever changes, someone please remind us to update this.

So, just know: WE GET IT.

We’re part of the ~80% of singles burnt out from dating apps. We know why they suck. The letdown when URL chemistry doesn’t translate IRL. The pressure. The ghosting. The safety concerns. The awkward moment when the check comes (flavorless, sugar-free icing on the dating app monotony cake). We’ve been through it all.


We built PlotTwist because we believe singles deserve better. 

Single life should feel spontaneous, social, fulfilling, and safe. It should be full of unexpected plans, connections you didn’t see coming, and core memories with your favorite people. And if you happen to find love along the way, great. If you don’t, you’re still living your most authentic, dynamic life, and spending it with someone who always has your back. What’s better than that?

We’re not here to make you promises we can’t keep or to sell you on what your relationship status should be. We’re here because social connection is a fundamental human need, and we don’t ever want you to feel alone. Because you’re not. 

Btw we’re also PlotTwist users (let’s match?) so we wanna say: to the lifelong friends we’ve met through PlotTwist - we adore you, to the guys we’ve dated through PlotTwist who are forever part of our single life lore - we love you (even if you didn’t love us back... your loss, tbh), and to the people we haven’t met yet but will because of PlotTwist - we’re ready when you are.
