Friends of the Festival is a Chattanooga-based nonprofit that specializes in event production and management. Founded in 1982 to attract sponsors, promote, set up, and produce Riverbend Festival, the city’s original music festival, it provides planning, implementation, and full logistical services for events in the greater Chattanooga area. With more than four decades of experience, the organization partners with others to offer tailored event planning support and access to resources and partnerships. Riverbend Festival began in 1982 as a five-night downtown celebration along the Tennessee River and now spans three nights on stages at Ross's Landing. The festival is a well-established event in Chattanooga and ranks in the top 10% of American festivals. A notable development in its history was a 2017 partnership with SoundCorps to expand opportunities for local artists to perform.
