The company’s Security Division was created in 1982 when Charles Garrett was asked to develop security screening metal detectors for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. This was the first use of walk-through and hand-held metal detectors by the Olympics. Since that time, Garrett has provided products and service for numerous international sporting events, including FIFA World Cup, the Pan American Games, and many summer and winter Olympics Games.
