Linking Drugs to Phenotypes using Target-Tissue Signatures

GeneCentrix, Inc. is a bioinformatics company that builds tools for early-stage drug discovery. Bringing new drugs to market is often a lengthy, expensive, and frustrating struggle. Our aim is to disrupt the process with novel, in silico methods that rapidly identify drug targets and drug candidates for any given disease and phenotype. 

We define drug action by the set of proteins they bind, and the set of tissues those proteins are expressed in. Therefore, drug activity is represented by a set of target-tissue pairs. We define disease, or phenotypes, in a similar fashion, allowing one to match drugs to specific phenotypes.
 
Our methods are based on the idea that for any disease, the combination of specific genes with the tissue expression of those genes produces a unique profile that can link a disease to a set of new drug candidates. We use big data resources to develop algorithms linking diseases and phenotypes to already existing and novel drugs.
