George Schmitt & Co. is a 145 year old, fifth generation family-owned graphic arts and manufacturing company with facilities in Guilford, CT and Melbourne, FL.  Schmitt specializes in shrink sleeves, pressure sensitive labels, wraps, and is a global leader in high security ink printing, RFID tags, and tamper-evident packaging.  We are known as a high quality printer to industry leaders in distilled spirits, pharmaceuticals, tobacco, food, apparel, aviation, and health care.  Our customers include large multinational corporations, government agencies, and smaller, privately held companies.
With gravure, flexo, and rotary letterpress printing capability up to 30 inches wide, and up to ten colors, flexibility in product design allows Schmitt’s customers unrestricted creativity.  With 14 U.S. patents, engineered solutions customize the manufacturing process to the product, not the product to the process. 
As a major supplier to the United States Postal Service, Schmitt has supplied over 35 billion postage stamps without a single field rejection.  Using our technology portfolio of overt, covert, and semi-covert technologies, we became the first company in the world to provide item level pharmaceutical labels with RFID capability.  We also provide layered security solutions to protect against counterfeiting, diversion, and tampering.  This is accomplished by using Schmitt’s proprietary assembly and testing equipment and processes, which ensures 100% readable inlays.
