Gorton Community Center, a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit space, houses the John & Nancy Hughes Theater and provides, maintains, operates, and manages Gorton for educational, and cultural purposes and for the general welfare of residents of the region of all ages. Gorton also provides a supportive, collaborative environment for many of the community's other not-for-profit social service and cultural organizations.
