Lookingglass Theatre Company, founded in 1988 by Northwestern University graduates, is a United States–based performing arts organization that develops and presents new, innovative theatrical works. It emphasizes an ensemble-based approach and extends its techniques to Chicago-area students and teachers through Education and Community Programs. Grounded in collaboration, transformation, and invention, the company aims to engage audiences and leave them feeling changed and empowered.

Based in Chicago and anchored by a landmark venue opened in 2003 at Water Tower Water Works on Michigan Avenue, the company has earned national recognition for its work, including a Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre in 2011 and a MacArthur Award in 2016, along with the League of Chicago Theatres’ Artistic Achievement Award in 2017. In 2024, Jamey Lundblad was named managing director and Kasey Foster was appointed artistic director, reflecting leadership changes to guide ongoing program development.
