GTSC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan coalition of CEOs from small to mid-sized firms that develop and implement solutions for the federal homeland security and national security mission. It serves as a platform to help federal partners achieve their objectives in the face of budget constraints, leveraging the innovation and agility of its member companies. The organization emphasizes advocacy, capacity building, and partnership opportunities to support government customers in delivering effective, high-integrity technologies and services for prevention, protection, mitigation, response to, and recovery from terrorist incidents or natural disasters.

Based in Oakton, Virginia, GTSC operates within the government relations arena and collaborates with key federal agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, the Department of Justice, the Department of State, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. As a 501(c)(6) nonprofit, the organization aims to foster information exchange between the public and private sectors on homeland and national security ideas, technologies, and innovations. In 2025, GTSC expanded its leadership by appointing new members to its Board of Strategic Advisors.
