The Hampton Roads Community Foundation is a permanent charitable endowment created by donors from all walks of life who want to create a thriving community with equitable opportunity for all in southeastern Virginia. Its mission is to make life better in Hampton Roads through civic leadership, philanthropy and grantmaking. 

Founded in 1950, it is the region's largest grant and scholarship provider and also the catalyst for significant leadership initiatives. The foundation helps people find satisfying and innovative solutions to current challenges in the community they love. Our team helps people design permanent charitable funds -- in their names -- for the causes and nonprofits they care about the most.

Our mission is to inspire philanthropy and transform the quality of life in southeastern Virginia.
