The story of Hancock Insurance begins in 1970 when Roy Hancock II started in the life insurance business with Indianapolis life. Roy was an independent agent working out of a corner office located in his home. A few years later Roy saw the opportunity to better serve his life clients by offering home and auto insurance as well. The agency grew and attracted a number of insurance companies as well as new clients. In 1985 the agency expanded to the point where it needed to be moved from the home to a commercial office space located on North Market Street in Wooster. Roy partnered with other agents that joined him at the new location. In 2003 Roy’s son Mark joined him in the business and a few short months later it was time for another upgrade. The agency moved to its present location on Portage Road in Wooster in July of 2003. Four years later Sheri Boals joined the agency as a producing agent and office manager. The most recent addition to our team is Brant Duncan who joined us as a producing agent in October of 2012. We continue to grow, add technology and innovation to make ourselves more efficient to better serve our customers both now and in the years to come.
