Headington Companies is a Dallas-based company with interests in a wide spectrum of industries, including private equity, film production, office development, hospitality, restaurant and retail. Headington Companies’ foray into Main Street in the early 2000s was rooted in hospitality through the development of The Joule Hotel, a restored 1920s Neo-gothic bank building. Today, the Company’s holdings within the district are comprised of upwards of 20 independent real estate acquisitions. Its interest in downtown Dallas continues to expand with new projects both within and beyond the Main Street District as a consequence of it being such a ripe environment for successful investment, the setting of which represents the only true urban environment in the region. Downtown Dallas projects are highlighted by its renowned hotel, The Joule, which includes: The Spa, a privately-branded subterranean retreat; Vital, a fitness and cycle studio; onsite retail destinations carrying soft goods to curios at Tenoversix Presents, Weekend Coffee, Traffic LA and The Taschen Library. Unique dining and bar outlets are magnets for locals and visitors alike by way of Americano, CBD Provisions, Weekend Coffee, Midnight Rambler and Commissary, a combination bakery, butcher shop, gelateria, espresso bar, and market just steps away from the hotel. The opening and expansion of luxury boutique Forty Five Ten, across from The Joule, further articulated the Company’s efforts in the Main Street District as it continues to activate retail, special events, and day and evening dining and entertainment. That Dallas expansion will soon be joined by a new, 16,000-sq. ft. Forty Five Ten storefront at Hudson Yards in New York City, slated to open in March 2019. Headington Companies’ acquisition of Forty Five Ten in 2014 and most recently Tenoversix in 2018, represents its deep commitment to creating truly unique retail, restaurant and cultural experiences in both local and expansion markets.
