HealthFirst Bluegrass Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), provides a myriad of high-quality culturally and linguistically appropriate services to diverse populations throughout Lexington KY. We provide medical, dental, pharmaceutical, behavioral health, integrated health services, family and social services, and health education for all age groups. We are committed to ensuring the human right of accessible primary medical care through advocacy and community empowerment.
We have been serving the uninsured and underinsured population of Lexington-Fayette County since 1981. In the beginning, HealthFirst was known as the Primary Care Center of the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department. We incorporated as HealthFirst Bluegrass in May 2011 and became a fully autonomous nonprofit organization in February 2015. Despite changes in our organizational structure, we have maintained strong partnerships with community-based organizations, civic groups, educational institutions, and other stakeholders. These partnerships as well as our dedicated team of providers and support staff have all been key to our longevity. HealthFirst is an organization with a rich history, a bright future, and an unlimited potential for growth.

At HealthFirst, our behaviors towards each other, our patients and the public are guided by seven core values—humility, integrity, respect, excellence, inclusion, courage and empathy.
We are committed to our mission of “enhancing quality of life through transformative healthcare for all.” By satisfying our patients’ needs, we ensure they will continue to come to us for medical, wellness, dental and pharmacy services and will recommend us to others
