Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, HICO offers a wide variety of power system products supplying North America’s demanding electrical infrastructure. As wholly-owned subsidiary of Hyosung Corporation, HICO America operates across the US and Canada, with offices in Los Angeles, CA and Greensburg, PA. Founded in 1962, HICO enjoyed a technical relationship with Westinghouse Corporation into the 1990’s. HICO built its first transformer in 1969, delivered its first transformer to the US in 1998, and has since delivered more than 1400 to the North American market. Known around the world as a power equipment leader in both quality and technologies used, HICO has supplied 10,000 High and Medium Voltage Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS) and High Voltage breaker installations, as well as 4,500 power transformers worldwide. HICO builds small, medium and large power transformers up to 2,400MVA capacity, and designs both core or shell form transformers to customer specifications.
