The Honorine St. Jude Golf Classic (www.HonorineStJude.com) was established in 2009 by Scott Gance of Wilton, in memory of his parents, Anthony and Marcelle (“Honorine”) Gance, who generously supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for many years. The tournament carries on this tradition by creating a premium charity golf tournament with all net proceeds sent to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. 2012 Tournament generated over $45,000. 2013 expected to generate $100,000, all net proceeds directly benefit the Hospital’s life-saving mission. “Families never pay St. Jude for the care their child receives and, for every child treated here, thousands more have been saved worldwide through St. Jude research discoveries,” said Jennifer Maffeo, former Sr. Specialist of Regional Events at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “Thanks to the fundraising efforts of events like the ‘Honorine St. Jude Golf Classic,’ St. Jude is able to remain true to these principles, and consistently support children who are facing a life-threatening diagnosis.” "No Child Should Die in the Dawn of Life" Danny Thomas, The founder of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (1961).
