The Hudson River Foundation (HRF) is a New York City–based foundation dedicated to making science a central input in decisions about the Hudson River and its watershed. It pursues this aim by funding scientific research and by communicating findings to the scientific community, policymakers, and the public. The foundation also runs initiatives to improve Hudson ecosystem management and supports education about the river and improvements to the riverfront. In this way HRF operates within the environmental services field as a grant-maker and knowledge broker focused on river science and policy.
