Founded in 1948, the Huntsville Area Association of REALTORS® (HAAR) is a 1,500-member organization of real estate professionals engaged in every aspect of the industry, including residential/commercial sales and leasing, appraisal, etc. We were incorporated on December 2, 1948 and joined the Alabama Real Estate Association and the National Real Estate Association. Somewhere between 1951 and 1953 we changed our name to the Huntsville Board of REALTORS®. In 1999, the Huntsville Board of REALTORS® went online with a state of the art internet based MLS System, (the North Alabama Multiple Listing Service). That is also the year that the public MLS site was established, ValleyMLS.com. A few years ago, we updated our look by changing our name and logo to The Huntsville Area Association of REALTORS®. The Huntsville Area Association of REALTORS® began 2013 with roughly 1,500 members and is currently the second largest association in the state.
