The Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT) was established in 1891 to provide Indiana municipal officials a means to congregate, educate and advocate their interests before the state and federal governments. Indiana is one of the first states to form a municipal association, and IACT (pronounced "i-act") has a rich tradition of serving municipal government and elected officials. A not-for-profit organization, IACT represents municipalities before state lawmakers, and provides education and information to members. With more than 460 municipalities as members, IACT is the official voice of municipal government in Indiana. In 2017, Indiana Association of Cities and Towns will become Aim. Accelerate Indiana Municipalities. Think Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, taken to the next level. More modern. More strategic. More collaborative. In the days and weeks ahead we are excited to share more about the changes in our organization and how we hope this new, vibrant approach is just the beginning of another 125 years of working on behalf of Indiana’s economic engines, its cities and towns.
