Indego Africa is a mid-sized nonprofit based in New York City, New York, that works to empower artisan women in Africa through employment opportunities and education. It partners with more than 1,200 women in Rwanda and Ghana to design and sell products that are handmade in Africa, blending traditional techniques with local materials under designs developed in New York. The organization aims to help these artisans develop the knowledge and skills needed to run and scale their own businesses and become entrepreneurs who can lead change in their communities. Indego Africa directs its efforts toward education programs for the artisans and for youth in their communities. In March 2021, the organization expanded its ceramics collection with the Bud Vase, the Mini Vase, and the Gatagara Large Vase.
