Small team, high flexibility IES operates with an extremely small staff (0-1 employees reported) which suggests a lean operation and potential reliance on external expertise or subcontractors. Sales opportunities include offering scalable, modular services or partnerships that align with their project-based workflow and lower overhead.

Northwest focus The company targets the Inland Northwest region with environmental science and engineering services. Potential upsell opportunities exist in expanding services to larger municipal projects, regulatory compliance support, and climate resilience initiatives within this geographic market.

Broad service capabilities IES positions itself across environmental science, engineering, and management services, indicating cross-selling potential to clients needing integrated solutions—from environmental assessments to project management and community engagement.

Tech stack readiness Reliance on cloud platforms and standard web technologies (Google Cloud, OpenResty, Nginx, Lua, GoDaddy tools) suggests readiness for data-driven workflows, portals, or collaboration platforms. There may be opportunities to offer software-enabled environmental data services, dashboards, or client portals.

Growth through partnerships With comparable large firms in the sector, IES could pursue alliance-based growth, subcontracting relationships, or joint bids to leverage established networks while maintaining lean internal staffing. This presents a channel for entering larger projects and responding to competitive procurement processes.
