The Iraq Foundation is a nonprofit organization in international affairs, established in 1991 by Iraqis to support democracy, human rights, and civil society in Iraq with a focus on regional stability. Based in Washington, DC, the foundation has historically engaged with Iraqi expatriate and Kurdish communities, expanding its activities to Iraq after opening an office in Baghdad in 2003 and transferring many projects there. It operates through programs such as training, conferences, publications, and media outreach to strengthen civil society and human rights, working largely with Iraqi NGOs and relevant government bodies to promote inclusive development across regions of Iraq.
