Founded in 1838, Judson College was one of the oldest women's colleges in the United States. Judson College was an independent arts and sciences college affiliated with the Alabama Baptist Convention until its closure in 2021. The college offers bachelor's degrees in over 40 courses of study, an Associate Degree in Nursing, and various pre-professional programs, such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy, law and engineering. Judson College's facilities include a welcoming library, laboratories, classroom buildings, residence halls, an athletic park, a 30-stall equine science center with a covered riding arena, and a clubhouse for social activities.
