JVS Contracting, Inc. began operations in 2005 as a privately owned corporation. The owner, John V. Simon, Jr., has more than 35 years' experience in construction, demolition, recycling and solid waste. Based in Tampa, JVS also has locations in Largo and Bartow, Florida. We are a State of Florida licensed General Contractor, Underground Utility & Excavation Contractor and Pollutant Storage Systems Contractor. Our many disciplines include underground utilities and site work, demolition and dismantlement, earth-moving and mine services, and stone and aggregate recycling. JVS Contracting, Inc. has the staff and equipment to complete projects in excess of $10 million. Our wide range of experience and extensive equipment fleet enables us to work efficiently and meet schedule deadlines. JVS Contracting, Inc. prides itself on its quality service and performs 100% of its own work on the majority of projects and approximately 95% of its own work on all other projects. JVS has the experience to complete a wide variety of demolition projects ranging from residential properties, commercial and industrial buildings, to decommissioned power plants. Our largest project to date was demolition of the former Lucent Technology campus in Orlando, Florida. JVS demolished approximately 1.4M square feet of mixed-use buildings on a 206 acre site. This project was completed over the course of one year, with JVS utilizing 95% of its own forces. JVS has devoted significant resources to ensuring we have the right equipment to complete projects in a timely manner. Our fleet consists of dump trucks, roll-off trucks, excavators, loaders, backhoes, concrete crusher and screener, heavy lifts, pumps, and containers. JVS Contracting has consistently maintained an “A” grade for safe and reliable work with ISNetworld. We also have consistently maintained an EMR rating of less than 1.00 since we began operations. We currently have a rating of .69.
