Knot Studio is a team of wayfinders, place makers, and change agents committed to shaping the human experience of place and reinforcing the natural systems that sustain all life. We work across disciplines to cultivate an ecology of ideas and build frameworks that reveal meaning, promote equity, and inspire belonging. We offer services within the disciplines of environmental graphic design, landscape architecture, and environmental justice. We seek out projects that present unique challenges, and help our clients navigate the complex relationships between people and their environments. Our global portfolio spans civic, cultural, residential, education, health, and workplace projects. Recent and notable work includes the Stanford University Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Biology Research Building in Palo Alto, CA; the Strategic Action Plan of Equity Integration for the Portland-Vancouver region; Snow Peak Campfield in Longview, WA; and U.S. Embassies in Niger, Guatemala, and Mozambique. Our work has been recognized for design excellence with over 60 national and regional AIA and ASLA Honor, Sustainability, and People’s Choice Awards.
