Broadband Expansion KUB has secured a 6.5 million Tennessee Emergency Broadband Fund grant and launched ConnectED to provide free KUB Fiber to income eligible K12 households. This creates opportunities to offer complementary services such as device provisioning, home WiFi optimization, managed network services for schools and districts, cybersecurity for student networks, and expansion partnerships with municipalities and schools across Knox County and Union County.
Fiber Growth KUB is expanding fiber service into Union County and broader Knox County properties with grant support. Sales opportunities include designing, deploying, and maintaining fiber networks; GIS enabled asset management via ArcGIS; integration with existing systems; and selling managed services, dark fiber, and security solutions.
Community Solar KUB launched a community solar program in 2023 and manages a sustainable energy portfolio. Potential upsell opportunities include solar subscription software, subscriber monitoring and analytics, energy management platforms for customers, and partnerships to deploy additional solar projects or storage solutions.
Data Analytics KUB already uses Power BI, Tableau, ArcGIS, Geotab, and Ansible, indicating readiness for advanced analytics and automation. Opportunities include analytics modernization, data integration, dashboard design support, predictive maintenance, fleet optimization, and OT and IT cybersecurity hardening.
Workforce & CSR KUB emphasizes a mission driven, inclusive workforce and programs like KUB TeenWork and weatherization assistance. This opens doors for workforce development platforms, volunteer and program management software, energy efficiency initiatives, and ESG reporting services to support their CSR and grant funded programs.
