Life Flight is a Wellington, New Zealand-based not-for-profit organization delivering aeromedical care across the country around the clock. It uses the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and a fleet of Air Ambulance planes to provide time-critical medical services to people in need. Since its operations began, it has transported around 36,000 people and is called approximately every six hours for urgent care, handling cases from cardiac arrests to motor vehicle accidents and inter-hospital transfers for premature babies, as well as search and rescue. The organization relies on public support to fund its missions, with roughly $4,000 raised per flight, and it benefits from partnerships with local businesses and supporters that sustain 24/7 emergency medical care. A notable recent development is a September 2024 partnership with AMSL Aero.
