At Life Flight our purpose is to help save lives by providing outstanding aeromedical care to people in need. We are a lifesaving charity providing time-critical care to people across New Zealand, 24/7 with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and our fleet of Air Ambulance planes. Based in Wellington, Life Flight is called approximately every six hours to provide urgent medical care. Life Flight has flown 36,000 people to date, and for many of those individuals the flight meant the difference between life and death. Cardiac arrests, motor vehicle accidents, transferring premature babies to get the urgent care they need, search and rescue and more – the Life Flight team is ready for anything, all-day, every day. None of this would be possible without the generous support of the public. For every mission, $4,000 must be raised from the community. We couldn't do what we do without the generous support of local businesses, and individual supporters, that help to ensure emergency medical care remains available 24/7.
