LifeShare Blood Centers is a nonprofit community blood center headquartered in Shreveport, Louisiana. It supplies blood components to roughly 100 medical facilities, primarily across Louisiana, east Texas, and south Arkansas. Founded in 1942, the organization is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees and operates as a regional blood service provider. Its Immunohematology Reference Laboratory is one of only 66 AABB-accredited IRLs worldwide, and it acts as a supplier of rare blood through membership in the American Rare Donor Program. The organization’s Scientific Support Services perform complex compatibility investigations for challenging serological problems and are among just six AABB-accredited molecular labs globally. In 2025, LifeShare appointed Geri Venable as chief operating officer of blood services.
