Long Island Crisis Center operates round-the-clock crisis and suicide-prevention hotlines that are free, confidential, and anonymous. Founded in 1971, it began with a single 24/7 hotline and has since expanded to seven lines serving youths, adults, and others facing crises, including family distress and substance use. Based in Bellmore, New York, the organization serves Long Island residents within the mental health care field by offering immediate, non-judgmental support during critical moments. In addition to crisis counseling, the center maintains a database of more than 800 referrals to connect callers with appropriate services. All services are provided at no cost, and callers can access help without revealing their identity.
