Born in Timisoara, Romania, Lorena Sarbu discovered her passion for design at a very young age.

Fascinated by the textures and colors of fabrics, Lorena would raid her mother’s wardrobe to find materials to make clothes for her dolls (to her mother’s dismay, no doubt!). Though her passion for fashion remained undiminished, opportunities to study design in Romania were limited. So Lorena opted to study psychology at university – but all the while nurturing a dream of a career in fashion. Coming from a family with a stellar academic background Lorena credits her family for her strong work ethic.

Lorena studied hard and graduated early before setting out to realize her childhood dream, moving to the United States to attend the International Academy of Design & Technology in Chicago. Studying business and design, Lorena started to sketch and create the designs that would eventually evolve into her signature collection. She later continued her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.

Lorena launched her first eveningwear collection in 2009 and opened her New York showroom in early 2010. “I really knew from the beginning what I wanted to do: have my own business and create my own line” says Lorena. “I was always determined to create this future for myself and it really has been a dream-come-true.” In 2013, Lorena relocated her design studio from New York to Los Angeles, establishing her brand’s creative headquarters where the custom and couture gowns of her collections come to life.

As a contemporary woman with impeccable style, Lorena infuses her own glamorous and European-inspired personal fashion into beautifully timeless creations. With her eye for detail, Lorena exquisitely combines sumptuous fabrics, unique textures and intricate embellishment to create distinctively stunning designs for the modern woman.
