The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) is a public safety agency serving Los Angeles County, headquartered in Los Angeles, California. It is the nation's largest sheriff's department and one of the largest policing organizations in the United States, with a broad mix of sworn deputies, civilian staff, and reserve personnel.
