Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC) is located in southwest Los Angeles, approximately 20 minutes south of downtown Los Angeles, 15 minutes east of the Pacific Ocean, and 10 minutes north of Los Angeles International Airport. Our areas of service include the cities of Los Angeles, Inglewood, Hawthorne, and Gardena. The smallest of nine colleges in the Los Angeles Community College District, LASC, home of the Cougars, is also the fiercest with a passion for social justice, community engagement, and supporting students to overcome all obstacles to achieve their personal and professional dreams. LASC continues to cultivate a culture of care, being intentional about diversity and student success. The College serves 100% students of color, predominantly African American and Latinx. Since its founding in 1967, LASC has been devoted to social justice, closing equity gaps, and being a leader within the community to create intentional social change.
