Loudoun Water is a regional water utility based in Ashburn, Virginia, established in 1959 by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors to provide water and wastewater services in the county’s unincorporated communities. Its mandate centers on protecting public health and the environment by delivering high-quality water services. The entity finances its operations through user fees charged to customers and availability fees paid by developers, and it does not receive tax money. The service area covers communities in the eastern portion of Loudoun County and some areas south of Route 50 to the county line. As Loudoun County continues to grow, Loudoun Water expanded its offices in Virginia in 2024 to accommodate the expansion of operations and to introduce new technology aimed at improving biosolids processing.
