The Mansfield is a modern independent building society that has been serving its customers since its formation in 1870.

Over 150 years later The Mansfield continues to be a safe haven for thousands of savers, as well as a ‘can do’ lender for those looking to purchase residential property in England, Wales and Scotland or investment property in England and Wales.  The Society’s wide range of residential, buy to let and shared ownership mortgages, coupled with The Mansfield’s flexible underwriting approach, enables it to assess and agree mortgages based on individual circumstances rather than rely on automated credit scoring systems. 

As a mutual organisation run for the benefit of its members, The Mansfield actively supports the communities in which it serves, providing sponsorship, direct staff engagement through the “Work in the Community” scheme, and its Community Support Awards scheme. Each year, through this scheme, The Mansfield makes financial awards to organisations that work for the benefit of the local community.  Over £100,000 has been awarded through this scheme since it started in 2008.
