Mappus Insurance Agency is a locally owned and operated, independent insurance agency headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina.  Founded in 1960 by Theodore "Ted" Tobias Mappus, Jr., Mappus Insurance Agency advises individuals, families and local businesses of the Lowcountry on their risk and insurance needs.

We specialize in coastal property insurance.  We have a beach house insurance program in which we can write beach front homes, rentals, secondaries...you name it, of any value.  We also have a big niche in flood insurance, representing over 10 private flood companies, in addition to FEMA.  We write homeowners, auto, flood, wind/hail, boat insurance and more.  We have a strong niche in high-value homes and historic properties.
