Expanding Educational Programs The Maritime Museum of San Diego has recently partnered with UC San Diego to launch the groundbreaking Take Me to the Water exhibit, emphasizing its focus on innovative maritime history education. This presents opportunities to develop custom educational packages, virtual learning experiences, and corporate training programs aligned with the new exhibit.

Privileged Event Hosting With year-round private gatherings aboard its historic vessels, the museum attracts corporate events, private celebrations, and group experiences. There is potential to expand premium event services, themed sailing experiences, and personalized tours to attract higher-margin bookings and corporate clients.

Strategic Infrastructure Development The recent $5M financing for redevelopment and partnership with Tucker Sadler Architects opens avenues to upsell enhanced venue rentals, high-end private charters, and themed maritime experiences, appealing to organizations seeking unique event locations or exclusive sailing adventures.

Digital Engagement Opportunities Utilizing the museum’s digital platforms, including their website and social media, offers scope for targeted marketing campaigns, virtual tours, and online shop expansions. These digital initiatives can attract international visitors, history enthusiasts, and educational institutions for membership sales and event promotions.

Tourism and Bay Excursions The museum’s daily bay tours and weekend tall ship experiences position it as a key player in San Diego’s maritime tourism scene. Developing bundled packages with local hotels, travel agencies, and tourism operators can increase visitor volume and diversify revenue streams, especially during peak tourist seasons.
