The museum has one of the world’s finest collections of historic ships, including the world’s oldest active ship Star of India. Our collection of ships and exhibits are available for daily public dockside tours. For guests wanting to get out on the Bay, the museum offers daily 45-minute historic bay tours aboard the 1914 Pilot boat and weekend 75-minute naval history bay tours aboard the PCF 816 Swift boat - each an affordable and educational experience for general admission ticket customers to add to their visit to the Maritime Museum. Popular on-the-water adventures also provided to public are weekend tall ship experiences aboard the schooner Californian and galleon San Salvador. Docent - led tours, charters and private event venue opportunities await with more details and ticketing available at sdmaritime.org

The state's official tall ship, the schooner Californian, and Spanish galleon replica San Salvador, are also available for private charters, custom corporate and family group experiences, and public sails most weekends. 

Private gatherings are hosted year round aboard Museum vessels and may include Star of India, the 1898 steam ferry Berkeley, navy frigate H.M.S. Surprise, and more.
