Founded in 1961 and incorporated in 1978, MACC is a statewide non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Belmont, Massachusetts. It is our mission to protect Massachusetts' natural resources by supporting Conservation Commissions through education and advocacy. We provide environmental education, training, and assistance to over 2,000 individuals each year. Our participants include conservation commissioners, municipal and state staff and officials, consultants, engineers, lawyers, and other interested individuals throughout Massachusetts. We are also a leading advocate for conservation commissions, wetlands, open space, and environmental protection. We participate in government advisory committees on environmental issues, advise and comment on proposed laws and regulations, and file amicus briefs in important cases, among our advocacy activities.
