Born out of the defense aerospace’s Stealth Bomber and Fighter programs, MWI has become the leader in the innovation, design and commercialization of electromagnetic antennas for the nondestructive testing (NDT) of advanced materials and composites. Engineers today cannot test these critical materials non-destructively from the raw materials, to semi-finished materials or final products. MWI’s breakthrough intellectual property and technology produces unequaled composite NDT antennas, systems, and test services for the aviation and automotive industries.

MWI's patented, unique technology employs focused radio frequency (RF & Microwave (MW) antennas to produce a planar wave within inches of a probe. MWI’s NDT equipment uses gaussian beam polyrod antennas and electromagnetic linearly polarized resonant loop sensors (E-pods) across a broad RF spectrum. These sensors are incorporated into NDT system solutions for in-process quality control (QC) or quality assurance (QA) manufacturing. MWI also offers in-house advanced composite material testing services for manufacturers needing our engineering expertise or do not want to bring the technology in-house. MWI’s RF testing systems solutions include reel-to-reel scanners, defect detection systems, insertion loss devices, reflection loss devices, in-process uniformity scanners and handheld scanners.
