The “thinking out of the  box” inclination of the company, brought in the dry cut technology, which is used in all MEI edging machines, with many advantages over the old-fashioned grinding method.
The dry cut technology has made the dream of the blockless edging a reality, giving the company the opportunity to become the leading manufacturer in its filed and the key supplier of edging machines for large lens corporations as well as for independent labs of any size all over the world.

Driven by its mindful attention to the customer’s needs, today MEI offers a broad range of edgers of different size, different loading systems and different throughput, suitable for any kind of customer, from the optical shop up to the big fully automatic industrial labs.
         
The edgers are completely manufactured in Italy.
At MEI’s headquarters, very close to Milan, a team driven by passion of highly dedicated engineers, skilled technicians and service personnel, designs, produces and qualifies the machines, and provides life-long support to the customers for maximum usage of the products.

Beginning in 2007 the MEI service team has expanded its presence outside Italy to maximize the effectiveness of the technical support provided to the customers.
MEI offices with service personnel for help desk and field activity, fully stocked with spare parts and equipped with demo machines are operational is several parts of the world. In the USA MEI is present in Chicago IL and in Los Angeles CA, in Asia is present in Hong Kong, and for South America is in Sao Paulo Brazil.
