Mercy Community Services is a not-for-profit organization based in Rochester, New York, formed as a partnership between two human service programs: Mercy Residential Services/Melita House and Mercy Outreach Center. The former provides emergency and transitional housing and supportive services for pregnant and parenting teens, young women ages 16 to 22, and their children, aiming to foster safe, stable environments and pathways to self-sufficiency through case management and life skills education. The Outreach Center offers access to primary and dental care, advocacy, information and referrals for the uninsured and underserved, and serves as a community meeting space for groups such as AA and NA; it has supported several hundred patients with thousands of appointments in recent years. Operating in the individual and family services sector, the organization emphasizes resilience, connection, and stability to improve health and empowerment for its client base, which includes more than a hundred young women and their children annually. The center functions within a regional context of nonprofit humanitarian and social service providers dedicated to health equity and housing support.
