In 2006, he was a math and physics teacher that started experimenting with hops, malt and yeast back home in his kitchen in Copenhagen. Today, Mikkel Borg Bjergsø is internationally acclaimed as one of the most innovative and cutting edge brewers in the world. 

A deep friendship with Peter Zien of Alesmith and the weather in San Diego lead to the opening of Mikkeller Brewing San Diego in 2016. The vision is to explore the world and translate experience into our beer. We will brew beer that innovates. We will brew beer that excites, and always creates a reaction.
