When she created her eponymous brand in 1985, Misook Doolittle’s intention was to create knitwear for the woman who never wants to sacrifice sophistication for comfort. A Korean-American from humble beginnings, Misook began her line in her New York home, hand-knitting one-of-a-kind pieces that met her distinctive style needs. Soon, friends and strangers alike fell in love with her effortlessly stylish designs and the Misook brand was born. Misook quickly garnered attention from women worldwide for its signature machine-washable “silky knit.” Today, Misook embodies the same timeless silhouettes, sophisticated color combinations, and elegant details that resonated with women from the beginning.

Misook garments are created in factories that produce exclusively for our company. These factories utilize the latest technology in knitwear machinery and the highest standards of quality control. All pieces are produced using the full fashion technique, which eliminates waste by knitting each piece individually, in contrast to the prevalent cut-and-sew technique. While more expensive, the full fashion technique eliminates problematic stretching and warping of the final product through wear and tear. Misook utilizes the highest quality zippers, buttons, and trims available. Our proprietary yarns are a unique blend which allows core knitwear pieces to be machine washable, as well as fade and wrinkle-resistant. For this reason, the Misook brand has developed a base of loyal customers and has remained successful for over 30 years. Production has expanded to complement our core knitwear line with must-have woven styles in synthetic and natural fibers.  The addition of the elevated Misook Collection, which includes luxury fabrications like leather, cashmere, suede, wool, and silk, further expands Misook’s offering.
