MIX NYC is a New York City-based organization devoted to queer experimental media, promoting, producing, and preserving works tied to queer lives, politics, and experiences. Founded in 1987 by Jim Hubbard and Sarah Schulman, it runs what is described as the longest-running queer experimental film festival in New York, a platform that has challenged conventional ideas about gender, sexuality, and film form. In addition to the annual festival, it hosts local screenings, monthly events, and national tours, collaborating with community-based media groups and cultural institutions to broaden access.

The organization supports new queer artists through workshops, educational programs, and mentorship opportunities, helping LGBTQ+ youth explore digital media production and storytelling. Based in New York City, it positions itself within the media production industry as a civic and cultural platform that connects diverse audiences with queer experimental media across the city and beyond.
