AO Mobile launched in July 2019, just six months after AO acquired Mobile Phones Direct Ltd, which started in 1992, and together we’re the UK’s largest pureplay mobile phone retailer. Customers, often tell us that they find buying mobile and connectivity complicated but we’re determined to change that.  From our base in Thatcham, our dedicated team is always on hand to offer the full range of handsets from all manufacturers, connecting customers to the UK’s 4 biggest networks; EE, O2, Vodafone and Three. 

Our industry accolades and awards include What Mobile's "Best Online Retailer”, for six consecutive years and Mobile News Awards "Online Retailer of the Year” for five years running. We were also named 'Partner of the Year' in the O2 Partner Excellence Awards 2019. As one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the UK, our continued success is recognised by Sunday Times Fast Track 100 and Profit Track 100 in 2016, 2017.  We were also named O2 Partner of the year at the O2 Excellence awards 2019.
